The Presidio Tunnel Tops project first grabbed our attention in February of 2021 when we learned about the all-female team behind the project. Paula Cabot, the senior project manager for the Presidio Tunnel Tops project, told TBI at the time that she began her career over 35 years ago as a construction cost consultant for San Francisco, adding that she’s seen more women interested in the field lately: “It was pretty rare for a woman to be working on the estimation sides of construction in the 1980s, but that’s changing.”

Initially on track to debut this past fall, Omicron derailed those plans to see the 14-acre Presidio Tunnel Tops park — which will become the newest public national parkland inside the Presidio — open on time. But the soon-to-be “iconic must-see” San Francisco destination was finally given a concrete opening date as work on the project inches closer to completion.
